        Unit of measurement One (unit)

        A fiber optic pigtail is used to provide a reliable connection between optical fibers in structured cabling systems. It consists of a factory-terminated connector (e.g., LC, SC, ...) on one end, while the other end is an open, unconnectorized fiber. Fiber optic pigtails are typically used for field termination, where the open end is joined to an installed fiber using mechanical or fusion splicing. This allows for efficient and low-loss connections to splice trays, patch panels, or active network components.
