Fibernet's Futura launch fiber is a special fiber that is placed in front of a measurement section in an OTDR measurement. The fiber is essential for a standard-compliant measurement and fades out unwanted effects of the device on the measurement section. This is the only way to correctly measure the first and last connector of a link.
