This collaboration has resulted in, eg, the PRYSMIAN Festoonflex® PUR-HF trailing cable, designed for use under high mechanical stress such as in crane systems, machine tools, piped wagons and conveyor systems.

Overview of Festoonflex® PUR-HF characteristics

Festoonflex® PUR-HF cables impress the industry by being
• halogen-free;
• oil-resistant;

Characteristics and routing of Festoonflex® PUR-HF cables

Festoonflex® PUR-HF trailing cables with fine-stranded cores, a core insulation made from polyester and a textile crane cable support structure are part of the flexible PUR cable product range. The halogen-free Festoonflex® PUR-HF cable is heat-resistant, UV-resistant and flame-retardant according to VDE 0482-332-1-2/IEC 60332-1-2. In addition, the sheath made from polyurethane in sheath colour black is oil-resistant. The permitted travel speeds in metres per minute vary according to how the PUR cable is used:
• travel speed with several layers: 60m/min.
• travel speed with Festoon: 210m/min.
• travel speed with drag chain: 210m/min.
Based on their positive characteristics and high quality, Festoonflex® PUR-HF cables are ideally suited for routing in dry, moist and wet rooms as well as outdoors. Additionally, the PUR cable has been designed for constant use in water (no drinking water) up to an immersion depth of 50m.

Festoonflex® PUR-HF cables in crane systems and other areas of use

Cables of the type Festoonflex® PUR-HF are used as energy and control cables for very high mechanical stress or frequent bending under production conditions. These flexible cables with a sheath made from polyurethane are ideally suited as round cables for use on piped wagons, as trailing cables in drag chains and/or cable carriers as well as on moving parts of machine tools, conveyor systems, or similar. Festoonflex® PUR-HF cables are also certified for simple reel operation.
Very frequently, Festoonflex® PUR-HF crane cables and/or lifting gear cables can be found in crane systems. Whether for freely suspended festoonings on gantry cranes, overhead cranes, construction cranes or truck cranes—thanks to their outstanding characteristics, there is a great demand for crane cables to supply crane systems.
