Aiming at evolving into a system supplier for the crane industry, Faber joined forces with several cable manufacturers, including the world’s largest, Prysmian Group. As strong collaboration partners with high-quality crane cables and hoisting gear cables, including the reeling PUR cable PRYSMIAN Trommelflex® PUR-HF, the companies wish to serve the market as best as possible.

        Overview of Trommelflex® PUR-HF characteristics

        The flexible reeling PUR cables impress in crane and hoisting technology because they are
        • halogen-free;
        • UV-resistant;
        • flame-retardant according to VDE;
        • oil-resistant;
        • moisture-resistant;
        • have a high tensile load; and
        • are water-resistant up to an immersion depth of 50m.

        Characteristics and routing of theTrommelflex® PUR-HF line

        Cables of the type Trommelflex® PUR-HF are reeling connection and control cables with fine-stranded cores and an insulation made from polyester. The halogen-free cable is UV-resistant and flame-retardant according to VDE 0482-332-1-2. The Trommelflex cable’s PUR sheath in the sheath colour black is also oil-resistant. Thanks to its good UV- and moisture-resistance, the Trommelflex® PUR-HF cable is suitable for indoor and outdoor use as well as application in water (no drinking water). More specifically, the cable can be routed in dry, moist and even wet rooms. In case of constant use in water, the maximum immersion depth is 50m. Please ensure to follow the relevant routing guidelines for the Trommelflex® PUR-HF cable.

        Areas of use for the Trommelflex® PUR-HF cables

        Trommelflex® PUR-HF cables are utilised as reeling connection and control cables in lifting gear, conveyor systems and transport systems. The flexible cables have been designed for use under high to exceptional mechanical stress, so they are also suitable for use in heavy-duty devices such as reeling drums, moving motors and agricultural machinery. The cables of the type Trommelflex® PUR-HF belong to the group of crane cables, which is why they are very often requested as energy distribution cables for cranes in ports. The cables have been designed for a travel speed of 180m/min.

        PRYSMIAN Trommelflex® PUR-HF distributed by Faber

        Faber’ portfolio of Prysmian cables and lines is extremely diverse, so we are able to compile the right cable solution for any application and mechanical stress. The Trommelflex® PUR-HF cables can be ordered as 500m or 1000m drums or in any custom length. Our permanent availability of goods as well as the option to order through our online shop at any time, play an important role in crane technology because they can prevent immense downtime costs such as in crane operations in ports. The collaboration between Faber and the Prysmian Group also resulted in the trailing cable PRYSMIAN Festoonflex® PUR-HF and the trailing cable PRYSMIAN Festoonflex® C-PUR-HF. Extending the Prysmian Group’s crane cables available ex stock for the worldwide MRO demand is planned for the short term to ensure permanent availability of goods in the future world of cranes.
