N2XH-J with improved fire performance

N2XH-J is a halogen-free and flame-retardant low voltage cable for fixed installation with improved fire performance. As a halogen-free power cable, N2XH is used when public buildings or industrial facilities need an increased level of fire safety. As the cable is halogen-free, it helps to avoid potential consequential damage from a fire.

Design of the N2XH-J cable

The VDE-tested low voltage cable N2XH has a one- or multi-core copper conductor, a wire insulation made from cross-linked polyethylene, a plastic filling and a halogen-free outer sheath. The -J version of the power cable has a protective conductor in the colours green and yellow; this conductor is not present in the -O version of the cable.

Key features of N2XH-J cables

The key feature of N2XH, apart from being halogen-free, is its improved fire performance (= bundle test). Low smoke density keeps escape routes open. N2XH-J/-O cables are suitable for installation indoors, in air and in concrete. Direct burial in the ground or in water is not permitted.
